From the very first interview, the recruiters sell you on a great company with lots of benefits. What they don't tell you is that your work from home days just disappear due to "client need", so you are unable to actually relay on those days for appointments at home, children's events, etc. (which was a huge focus during recruitment). The "flex schedule" is a joke as well. I was told that this would allow you to attend classes, family events, etc. In reality, only about 25% of the time was flex even an option with individual clinics deciding all BCBAs had to work 8-5 everyday. They also don't tell you how many operations tasks they require BCBAs to do. You have to manage the schedule, arrange to send staff to other clinics, and approve PTO- even with two operations staff in the building. They require you to cover direct sessions very frequently and tell you to work on the schedule during these sessions. Their ideas of sending "support" to an understaffed clinic is the RCD arriving, buying lunch, and then taking over the BCBA office for other meetings, never once covering a session, adjusting the schedule or covering restroom breaks (all of this falls on the BCBAs). The regional staff will constantly pressure you take to on more cases and lie straight to your face without hesitation. Several times the RDO looked me in the eye and told me and lied to me, and the RCD did the same thing once.
