Pros
UbiOps is an great environment for engineers who value autonomy, ownership, and collaboration. As a contractor, I was trusted with a complex project and given full freedom to design and implement it, with support always available when needed. The engineering team is skilled, approachable, and pleasant to work with. Communication is quick, and alignment is easy whether you work remotely or onsite. The company culture is one of its strongest points. Their agile structure (weekly sprint planning, daily stand-ups, CI/CD, clear roadmap) keeps development smooth, and the team is built on trust rather than micromanagement. Leadership communicates transparently and involves the entire team in discussions about future directions. They invest in a strong team dynamic, with regular opportunities to connect that create a warm, collaborative atmosphere. Overall, UbiOps combines strong engineering practices, a trusting culture, and a welcoming team, making it a rewarding place to work, whether as an employee or a freelancer.
Cons
The frontend codebase could benefit from more structure and modernisation, but the team’s size and development pace doesn't always allow large refactors. This doesn’t impact daily work significantly, but as the company grows, allocating time for these improvements would make the development experience even smoother.
