Pros
Decent pay, nice coworkers, convenient parking. Working with the students is rewarding. When student behaviors do get out of hand, the Deans are usually quick to respond and assist.
Cons
Administration does not have your back. I received almost no support when i laid out the problems I was having and then fired without warning in the middle of the school year. Disorganized, I was hired to teach chemistry and physics. One week before the school year began, I was told I would be teaching chemistry and environmental science. When I confronted admin about this, the person who made my class schedule told me it was set long before I was hired, but the principal said it was a recent change. My teaching resources to teach environmental science were not even given to me until 2 weeks into the school year. Terrible health plan, no dental. It's a revolving door of teachers there and I can see why now. Upon attempting to collect my things from the classroom, I had a bag with some electronics in it go missing, and I am still trying to find it. The students can be hard to work with through no fault of their own.
