Pros
The only remotely redeeming part about this job is the children because through the hell of it all, the right kid can truly make your life on the job that much more bearable and rewarding. Its also based on contract offers so can be flexible around your schedule as an side hustle especially if you’re an college student where they have camps available during the summer or holidays.
Cons
Worked here for ~3 years now and am thoroughly surprised this company hasn’t failed yet. 0 care for their employees nor the children that come to camp. The projects are barely doable for the children and all management does is go after you to complete the projects for the kids to show for the parents. Quite ironic for the kinds of values that NORY “stands for”. Also, unless you work as a site director or higher management position at the company, they don’t give an f about you. They give newcomer ATs and promotion as quick as a week and would prioritize them for job openings over people like me who who’ve worked there for years. It’s so sad that this corporation takes advantage of people who’ve worked for them for so long.
