Pros
You meet some really awesome people (employees) and the job will teach you the ropes of what is needed before you get out on the job.
Cons
Pay is something that is lied about on their listing when I applied. When listed, in interviews, and all the way up until getting in the door, pay was described to be at a fixed rate of $135 per day. But after the 3rd day of orientation, one of the owners comes in to tell us that our compensation would be 80% less than what was promised to us, because of not being a lead photographer. It was also stated that we would be shadowing the lead photographers on each job and that's why it was like that. No shadowing happened. You're getting to do the same work as a lead photographer, except taking group photos and managing a schedule, which in my opinion is the easiest part of the job. Constant yelling and belittlement by one of the managements there, made it hard to even want to do the job.
Everyone outside of the company, as far as the school facility were amazing, but Barksdale itself is not a company I would ever recommend to anyone.
