Pros

No weekend work Hybrid working (currently 2 office days/week for most people)

Cons

Amici feels unstable with frequent hiring and firing. A culture that once retained employees has deteriorated and is now a major reason people are unhappy. Leadership is chaotic, stifling, egoistic, lacks compassion and is generally considered accountable for the toxic environment we now find ourselves in. Communication is poor and significant costly mistakes have left employees to deal with the consequences. Morale is at an all time low. Amici feels increasingly out of touch and behind the times. I cannot in all good conscience recommend Amici as a good place to work.

Pros

Hybrid working (honestly, nothing else at all).

Cons

I would really avoid working here if I was you... There is constant change in management and senior leadership, which creates a lot of confusion and a lack of direction. The company also seems to be constantly hiring and firing people, making job security feel non existent. One of the biggest frustrations is the lack of job descriptions. Employees were promised them for years but to this day, they're still waiting. In the meantime, more and more responsibilities gets added to your role until you're doing things you never applied for in the first place! There is definitely a culture where if your face doesn't fit, you'll eventually be pushed out, regardless of how good you are at your job. The business is completely top heavy with too many middle managers and not enough support for the people who are actually doing the work. There's a HUGE disconnect between management and their teams. Those who perform well are often rewarded with even more work, while workload and responsibilities are not always distributed fairly across teams. The company has also made redundancies, only to then struggle with the workload and then pulls people from other departments to help out. Benefits are honestly awful! Even things like maternity pay are limited to the statutory minimum, which says a lot about how much value is placed on employees. Stability is lacking, and overall it feels like employees are viewed as completely disposable. The company has lost a LOT of good people over the years and unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they've learnt from it.

Pros

The people... its nice to come to work and enjoy spending time with the people around you. Hybrid working - most weeks 2 days in the office Development opportunities - Have really developed my soft skills whilst working at Amici and appreciate that if you have an interest in a different part of the business, your manager will look for opportunities to allow you to experience those roles. Have seen people undertake secondments and progress through different teams. Progress is based on performance not length of service which I really appreciated when I joined.

Cons

Benefits are not like those in public sector or huge corporations, but if the company does well, you are rewarded. The company is growing fast, which means that things can change quickly - if you can't work in fast paced envrinoment, then its probably not for you.
