The irony - Human Resources Topaz HR Advisory Employee Review

Pros

I honestly cannot say there was a positive aspect to my experience.

Cons

The irony of working here is that it presents itself as an “HR consulting company,” yet there is a lack of understanding of federal and local employment laws. Instead of prioritizing compliance and lawful guidance, the focus often seems to be on finding ways to maximize profits—even when those approaches raise serious legal and ethical concerns. What’s more troubling is that inexperienced employees are sometimes directed or encouraged to interpret regulations in ways that are misleading or non-compliant. In an industry where accuracy, integrity, and adherence to employment laws should be the foundation, this disconnect is both alarming and disappointing. Additionally, if you noticed a sudden influx of positive reviews in January, it’s worth mentioning that current newer employees were encouraged to post reviews around that time. This raises further concerns about transparency and authenticity.

Pros

Topaz HR is the kind of place where you’re trusted to lead, grow, and truly make an impact. The work is meaningful, the team is supportive, and the culture is rooted in doing the right thing for clients and employees. Leadership values initiative and execution, and you’re given real autonomy to own projects and deliver results. If you care about HR, compliance, and building strong people systems, this is a great environment to sharpen your skills while making a difference.

Cons

Because the work is client facing and fast-paced, priorities can shift quickly. You have to be organized, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple items at once.

Pros

Working for Topaz HR, I don't feel like that "just a number" you tend to hear about with larger corporations. This team we have here which is "small" but mighty feels more like a family then a team. We genuinely care for one another, and that continues up the chain of command. I feel valued, and heard here. I feel like I am making a change for the company to continue to grow and that is exciting!

Cons

The con is we are a "smaller" company, so growing pains are here. But I think we do a GREAT job of moving the pains around so it doesn't just fall on one person.
