Pros

If you care about the cause, it could be worth it. I worked with a few colleagues that were interesting, amicable and supportive, but in general, the organization was not.

Cons

The Brady campaign did not advocate for a buy - back program. In California, it did not make sense to talk about gun-violence as solely a nonpartisan issue. As someone who has staffed five presidential campaigns as a field organizer and also fundraised over $300 for a public radio station in one day, I could tell that managers in the company were not clearly educated about policy and lacked political experience. I was able to generate a few leads, but some of my colleagues were also not able to meet quota and still were hired as full - time staff. One of the lead canvassers also made one of the most offensive comments I've ever heard on a job. They wanted to punch a homeless person. I don't believe this was even in the context of self - defense. This person also allowed me to go home early on one day. I've read multiple reviews here and agree with the unrealistic expectations and lack of strong ethics. This was one of the most unprofessional operations of I've been a part and I've had a team of volunteers, interns and staff for other organizations. Eventually, online donations will make this work obsolete. Out of the millions of jobs available in America, chose something else.
