Pros
It's a job, but in my opinion the compensation is extremely low where you're unable to comfortably cover living expenses. The hiring process is relatively easy, and job security as you will have to do a lot of things wrong if you fit the good ole boy persona. The company also makes an effort to engage employees through events and activities so that helps to level out all the drama.
Cons
The biggest challenge was compensation. Florida is an expensive place to live, and I did not feel the pay was sufficient to comfortably cover living expenses.
While employee housing discounts are offered at some properties, I did not find them significant enough to offset housing costs. I also found many of the units to be older and in need of updates and still have mold from all the bad weather the area gets.
The workplace culture was another concern for me. There seemed to be a great deal of gossip among members of management, and professionalism was not where should be, no meaningful action taken to address them.
Overall, the environment felt more like navigating high school dynamics than working in a professional setting. While the company does host employee events and may be a fit for some individuals, it was not an organization where I felt supported or saw strong opportunities for professional growth or pay increases.
