Pros

Great pay and hours, wonderful insurance benefits, generous PTO and sick leave, Every holiday off.

Cons

There is no room for advancement or role diversity for civilian Nurse Practitioners. RN's are promoted and NP's remain in Provider roles seeing patients back to back. Standard of healthcare is very low and leadership is disengaged. Clinic staffing is low so as a Provider you take on a lot of responsibility. Working with corpsmen can be challenging instead of trained medical assistants. Getting from the street up to the gate onto base can take up to 30-35 minutes some days. Very frustrating. It's hard to believe there isn't a solution for this.
