Pros

- Opportunity to work with a diverse population - Opportunity for advancement - Working independently

Cons

If you want to break into the non-profit sector, get your experience and go. Speaking as a former Front Desk Clerk, you have no support from anyone! Not HR, management or other team members. This place is extremely toxic and dysfunctional. Co-workers are unreliable. They no call no show, are bullies, incompetent and wouldn't hesitate to throw you under the bus. One of the worst experiences I ever had in my working career. On top of the hostile work environment, I also experienced racial microaggressions from multiple co-workers. If you're a competent employee, they see you as a threat and will try to push you out. This is not a place you want to work in long-term. Get your experience and go.
