Pros
I had a great experience working as a law clerk at SKH Family Law & Estate Planning. The firm provides excellent exposure to family law, and I was able to gain both observational and drafting experience. I had opportunities to review case materials, assist with drafting legal documents, and observe how attorneys approach complex family law matters, which gave me a strong understanding of the practical side of the practice. The shareholders at the firm are well-known and highly respected in the family law field, and it was incredibly valuable to learn from attorneys with that level of experience. Professionalism is taken very seriously at the firm, which reflects the expectations of the legal profession overall. If you are a law clerk who is professional, willing to work hard, and eager to learn, you will gain a lot from the experience and have the opportunity to succeed. The office culture is also very welcoming. One of the standout perks is that the firm provides free lunches prepared by a chef every day, which creates a nice opportunity for the team to connect. Free parking is also a huge benefit. Overall, my time at SKH played a major role in helping me realize that I want to pursue family law. I’m grateful for the experience and the opportunity to learn from such knowledgeable attorneys.
Cons
