Pros

I’ve worked at several other practices over the past few years, but AUC has always felt like home. I’ve been given a lot of support, encouragement, and opportunities to grow—not just as a technician but as a person. The doctors practice high-quality medicine and truly utilize their support staff to their full capabilities. The team genuinely feels like a team—people support each other and are always willing to share/teach new skills/techniques. Management is approachable, listens to feedback, and is willing to work alongside the team when needed.

Cons

As with most ERs, the schedule can include long hours and weekends/holidays, which isn’t for everyone. The hospital is still working through some of the adjustments that come with expanding from an after-hours model to a full 24-hour facility, but those growing pains are expected during a period of growth. Since moving to 24/7 operations, it’s been harder to get everyone together outside of work. It honestly just highlights how close our team is, but I do miss the group hangouts and all the good food we used to try together. Techs are notoriously food-motivated, so that part has definitely been noticed

Pros

We got a new manager. We feel more heard, and things have been going smoothly. We recently went 24/7, instead of overnights and weekends only. We have snacks in the breakroom, We get 1:1 time with the manager. We do off site gatherings for those that want to come. Our tech week was huge list past year. Because we are heard, things can change quickly.

Cons

We currently work 8-hour shifts, and its been hard working ER 5 days a week. However, we recently had been told we are going to 3, 12-hour shifts, so that should get better. Sometimes things change to quickly.
