At Lendmire, we work hard to set clear expectations from the very beginning of the hiring process. Every new loan officer is required to attend a recorded onboarding call, where we review our business model, compensation structure, performance standards, and what it takes to succeed in a commission-based sales role. Attendance is tracked, and each candidate also receives a copy of the slide deck along with a link to the recorded onboarding call for future reference.
The onboarding presentation is designed to cover these expectations in detail so that every candidate fully understands the role before moving forward. For that reason, we make a strong effort to ensure there is clarity from day one about how the position works and what is required for success.
At Lendmire, we give new professionals an opportunity and provide them with structured support, coaching, and clear performance standards to help them build a career. However, as with any sales profession, success ultimately depends on the individual’s willingness to put in the work and remain consistently engaged.
During onboarding, we are very transparent about the realities of the mortgage industry and the expectations of the role. We explain that this is a sales-driven position, that success comes from building relationships, and that consistent activity is required to generate results. We also let candidates know that if they find they do not enjoy working with people or being in a sales environment, it is completely okay to pursue a different career path that better fits their strengths.
We understand that many new loan officers face a learning curve, and our goal is to provide structure, coaching, and accountability to help those who are committed to building a long-term career in the industry. However, the coaching activities and engagement requirements are a key part of that support. If a loan officer becomes disengaged or does not complete the required coaching activities, unfortunately there is very little we can do to assist them in building momentum.
Our standards are designed to support performance, not to “turn and burn,” and we are proud to have many team members who have found success within this model.
We appreciate the time you spent with Lendmire, and we genuinely wish you the best in your future endeavors.
