Pros
Working with the kids is great, and all of my interactions with my coworkers have been friendly and supportive. I appreciate that the office handles most of the interactions with parents, so teachers can focus on teaching instead of scheduling.
Cons
Getting time off is impossible even if you know months in advance. You're expected to find your own coverage, but due to the structure of the classes, there's usually only one person available to cover your shifts. You don't get any breaks within a 5+ hour shift because the 15-minute periods between classes are spent cleaning, setting up for the next class, and supervising students who get picked up late. Our manager sometimes watches us and listens in on our conversations through the security cameras with no warning. Management also clearly has no intention of changing their extremely restrictive and outdated teaching style despite years of repeated feedback. Overall, the company expects you to commit as if you're a full-time employee at a part-time job, while not offering any benefits or opportunities for career growth.
