Pros

Working with the Sisters is great! Benefits and pay are above average for the area and for a nonprofit.

Cons

Systemic processes are in flux, making policies hard to find. In spite of a lot of upper management structure, there is little in the way of support for middle management.

Pros

Benefits are outstanding. That's about it. One needs to endure a lot of pain to reap the benefits.

Cons

Upper Management will never listen to anyone but themselves. Organization is shrinking and as they lose people the survivors get the workload from the empty space created by the personnel loss. Seems to be happening in most departments. They set highly unrealistic expectations that will never be possible to attain. For such a small staff of a few hundred, they have tons of CEOs and other chief positions. Each time a chief expires, they are quick to replace the chief but they never fill in the lower positions, just pass along more work to the lower echelon. They even created more upper management positions but still keep cutting back the workers who actually perform the work. This is all very sad as the staff are employed to serve and support the nuns. If you talk to any given nun who is not a chief employed position, 99% of the nuns are not a chief employed with the Sisters of Mercy, none of the nuns are happy with the organization and how the upper echelon are treating the nuns with how they manage operations. This is fact you can check by simply asking any nun who is not a chief in the order of Sisters of Mercy.
