It is really difficult to find anything positive to say about LDF. Let me think...I've got nothing!
Cons
Externally, LDF purports to defend the civil rights and liberties of marginalized people, but internally, they violate the civil rights and liberties of those same people. Staffers are regularly disrespected, mistreated, devalued, and disregarded. Everyday is a fight for your dignity.
I have never seen a more incompetent so-called group of leaders. The Senior Leadership Team and senior staff regularly mistreat and abuse staff. Management will straight up lie to your face. It is some wild stuff that goes on at LDF. I am really surprised no one has filed a lawsuit against the organization.
Don't get me started on the lousy HR Department. They shouldn't even exist. Workplace rights are not a thing.
LDF has unqualified people in roles they should not be in. Cronyism is rewarded; competence is not. No matter how many surveys you send out or staff events you plan, nothing will fix the corruption and cover-up going on at the top of this organization.
How many staffers have to quit before you realize you have a problem? LDF is losing institutional knowledge and seemingly doesn't care. This organization is on life support.
It is a dark place.
