Some things need to be improved

4 day work weeks for Quality Control Department most of the time (10 hour days, Mon-Thur)

Extremely negative, hostile, vulgar, unprofessional work environment in the Quality Control Dept. I was a new gal there "trying" to learn a job & I was treated like garbage from day 1 by the 2 gals in the Dept that were supposed to be training me! I couldn't believe how nasty these women were; however, this seems to be the "norm" for them & they're allowed to get away with this negative/nasty attitude & behavior as it was quite clear to me since they didn't bother to hide it & no one told them they should be behaving any differently. Overall, I really liked the job itself. It was completely outside the box for me; however, I know I was learning the job & I was actually doing quite well in my newfound position, in spite of how I was being treated while "trying" to train/learn the Quality Control Document Specialist position. Lord knows the 2 gals that were training me were never going to give me any credit for a job well done! I would have stayed there forever, however, after 4 weeks of the non-stop exposure to the negative, hostile, vulgar, unprofessional work environment I was continuously subjected to, I knew it was time for me to leave. I didn't want to become like the people I was working with & furthermore, I knew this was a very unhealthy work environment for anyone to be exposed to for any length of time. The whole situation was a dirty shame as I'm self-supporting & I really needed this job to work out for the "long haul." It truly blows my mind how people are allowed to get away with things like this while at work. I've worked for a lot of companies & all I do know is that these types of behaviors/attitudes would NEVER have been allowed for a New York minute before you'd be FIRED & rightfully so!!
