promoting stupid people because they are old in the business headoffice does not know how stores run favourism - if you speak chinese, you are good too much pressure to sell and make budget not being paid properly on time

Pros

Staff discount? Sales end up being better than staff discounts so not really a difference.

NO TRAINING. My past beauty retail jobs ALL had extensive product knowledge training, I don’t know if W Cosmetics just doesn’t have the budget to introduce training or what but it would be beneficial for staff to actually know what they’re talking about and it would help staff SELL more. Going from my past beauty retail jobs to this was a huge difference. Coming from beauty retail jobs that gave products, had so much product training, good discounts, you could sell sell sell. At W Cosmetics you can sell to a minimum, people flock to W Cosmetics for the products they don’t know much about and expect the staff to tell them. If the staff can’t tell you because they weren’t trained or encouraged to learn, what’s the point of having them stand there? Staff are not just cleaners or security. Staff have to go home and educate and train themselves when that should be something that’s included on the clock. It’s comedic actually that the company wants to push sales but can’t push training onto their staff. Managers need to learn to communicate and delegate properly. Communication is so bad, it’s like they want to keep information to themselves. There is favouritism which is showing through rostering and tasking. Give staff opportunities to learn and grow and stop trying to shut them down.

- management can be improved - culture is toxic - expectation is high but the salary is low - no proper training, they only teach you when there's no one else know how to do
