Pros

Salary is paid as stated

Cons

Does not operate at the standard expected of an international school Extremely high staff turnover and many staff do not remain long-term Public-facing information for example staff listings, may not reflect current reality. Concerns around consistency of hiring standards and teacher qualifications. Reports of unequal treatment and perceived favouritism within staff culture Professional boundaries between staff are not always clearly maintained. Work expectations may extend beyond teaching for example weekend duties, non-academic responsibilities, without clear structure Scheduling and instructions can change frequently with limited notice or clarity. Limited academic structure and inconsistent support for teaching staff. Student outcomes may rely significantly on external tutoring rather than in-school systems

Pros

Nantong is a nice city for those who want to get away from the bustle of big cities. Except for parents-teachers meeting once every semester on Saturdays and government-mandated work days, there is no expectation to work on weekends. Other than teaching (and homeroom related responsibilities for homeroom teachers), teachers are not expected to take on extra duties. Students are lovely. No serious disciplinary issues. There are the usual ones whose only goal in school is to socialise with friends and pass time but looking past that, as a whole, the students are really fun to interact with.

Cons

Shortage of teaching staff, resulting in heavy workload for some teachers. Only a few passionate and good teachers left in the school. Incompetent and lazy teachers remain gainfully employed with lighter workload. Feels like a for-profit school. Staff are not valued. Not using the Mathematics and Additional Mathematics textbooks required for Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, so teachers have to source for their own resources.
