Pros

Good office location in central York.

Cons

Marketing team managers & senior staff are some of the worst I've dealt with in eight years working in the travel sector. Zero people skills, expect to be spoken to rudely and treated like a robot. Expect zero work/life balance with very little appreciation for extra work put in. Expect extreme micromanagement. Have new ideas? You'll be shot down by someone higher up and just be told to do it their way anyway. Advertise great perks on job adverts, but they're not really forthcoming with any info once you start. One WFH day a week advertised as 'flexibility' but in reality, senior management get annoyed if you try to have any sort of flexibility here. They expect a consistent day off each week and aren't happy if you choose Friday. Archaic policies from a different era. You'll see a plethora of negative reviews on here like I did. Don't ignore them like I did.

Pros

The NYC office is the perfect mix - a true start-up culture, but with the security of working for a mature, stable company. The office is small, but growing fast, which means there is a lot of opportunity to jump in and help out. The culture in the NYC office is one where employees are encouraged to think-outside the box and challenge the status-quo The best part of my job is that I can have a direct impact on the success of the business every single day.

Cons

As with most start ups, there is a lot of "learning by doing" that happens every day. For me, that is a pro, but for others that might be a turn-off.

Pros

As a new operation introducing our well-established product range to the US/Canadian markets, there are plenty of hats to wear, and many way in which to grow and learn. With the small team size and intimate office setting, there is ample opportunity to get involved and try out new ideas. There is a deep sense that your input matters and that this is essential to effecting change.

Cons

As the team is small, it can be problematic when an illness such as the flu takes root. Certain processes can be overly complex to allow for operations in different markets, but as this operation is new, these may just be growing pains. As our market is not yet qualified on rail touring, it can often be a bit laborious to explain what exactly it is that we do, and what next steps look like.
