Able to do many different roles (client facing, various design roles, etc), large impact on decisions, responsive to suggestions, reasonable workload

It could be a bit more structured, but that's expected from a startup

The work experience was flexible and largely asynchronous -- perfect for an active student.

They were incredibly rude and demanding, would degrade interns in large group chats with other employees, and most importantly: they promised to pay their interns, but did not. I was told both verbally and in writing that I would be paid. All the other interns were told this as well. None of us were paid at any point, in any manner. I eventually quit because of this, and I was insulted in front of other interns as a "weak" employee for this very reason, despite giving a respectful and unoffensive 2-week notice.
