Pros

Some of the docs are amazing. Charting by techs is generally good and HIPAA is well-respected. Drug rep lunches are common and the Christmas party was great.

Cons

This place destroyed my self-esteem and sent me straight to collections for my “free” employee eye exam after I quit. I felt that management was unapproachable and unsympathetic. Coworkers gossiped about my appearance behind my back. I am a hard worker and this job had me doubting myself and counting down the seconds until I had to clock in. Pay is also not sufficient to afford living within 45 minutes of work.

Pros

I’ve been with Maine Eye Center for over two years. I originally accepted the job for the opportunity, but I stayed for the family feel. The environment is welcoming, and I genuinely feel that my opinions are heard and valued. It's a busy, fast-paced practice, but there’s a strong sense of teamwork. The staff, management, and doctors all have the best interests of the patients—and one another—at heart. I also admire what Maine Eye Center stands for and the care they bring to the community.

Cons

Like any busy medical practice, the workload can be demanding at times, especially during peak hours. But the collaborative environment helps balance that out.

Pros

Leadership is always willing to jump in and help out where they are needed. People are easygoing, understanding and always trying to make improvements. No place of employment is perfect. It’s about the effort you put forth to help make it a good work environment. Doctors are great!

Cons

It’s healthcare, which comes with dealing with upset and/or patients that just don’t understand.
