Pros

Grupo Oesía offers technically complex and meaningful projects in sectors such as defense, aerospace, and critical systems. There is a strong focus on robustness, reliability, and compliance with demanding technical and quality standards. I value the level of technical expertise within the teams and the collaborative approach across systems, software, hardware, and verification disciplines. Engineering leaders are trusted with autonomy and responsibility, and management generally supports informed technical decision‑making and long‑term project success. The company provides stability and a reasonable work–life balance, which helps maintain focus on delivering quality results.

Cons

Some processes can be heavy due to the nature of regulated and high‑criticality projects, which may slow down decision‑making or implementation at times. As with many large organizations, coordination between departments can occasionally be improved.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed perspective. Your view on the technical complexity of the projects, the impact in critical sectors and the level of expertise across teams really reflects what we aim to build every day. It’s also great to see autonomy, collaboration and trust highlighted, as they are key to how our teams operate and deliver high‑quality results. At the same time, you point out something very real in this type of environment: processes can become heavy and coordination between areas may not always be as agile as we’d like. We’re actively working on simplifying workflows and strengthening cross-team collaboration, while maintaining the high standards that these projects require. We truly appreciate your insights and suggestions. They help us keep evolving while preserving the strong technical foundation that defines us.

Pros

I currently work within Cipherbit, a hyper-focused cybersecurity and encryption company within Grupo Oesía, where I am responsible for go-to-market activities across the cybersecurity product portfolio. What has impressed me most since joining — particularly coming from an acquired company — is the clarity of strategic direction. There is a well-defined five-year strategic plan, with clear focus on priority sectors such as defense and healthcare, and a crystal-clear ambition for international expansion. The annual Management Day is something I had never experienced before: a four-day onsite executive session at the beginning of the year that aligns leadership across the group, reviews performance transparently, and sets direction for the year ahead. The dedication of time and resources to executive alignment is exceptional and demonstrates long-term commitment. The “Road to Partner” program is another standout initiative. It offers a structured executive career path all the way to equity partner level, which creates a genuine sense of ownership and long-term alignment. Work-life balance is genuinely respected. Summer hours in July and August (typically 8:00–14:00) are highly valued, and flexibility is embedded in the culture. From a strategic perspective, I also see strong opportunity for international profiles. The company’s positioning in cybersecurity and encryption, combined with its focus on strategic sectors, provides a solid foundation for expansion beyond national borders. Despite only being with the company for a relatively short time, I can clearly see long-term potential. It is exciting to be part of an organization experiencing visible growth while simultaneously investing in structure, leadership development, and strategic clarity.

Cons

As with many fast-growing organizations, some processes are still evolving. Continued investment in internal coordination and operational structure will help support the next phase of expansion.

As you point, sustained growth also means that some processes need to keep evolving.
