Pros
Fantastic industry experience Colleagues in the artist departments were a delight to befriend Flexible WFH
Cons
- Manager would never review anything on time, causing delays in approvals, then blame production for the work taking longer than expected - Team members were often asked to perform tasks outside of their job description - Manager had a noticeable pattern of overly scolding female members of the team while playing favourites with male team members. - If you get something right, it's unacknowledged. If you get something wrong, you get a whole meeting called in to figure out how you messed up and what part of the pipeline needs to be completely rearranged - Manager often makes requests and pings to team members from as early as 5am or on weekends. This is a violation that can be prosecuted by the Fair Work Ombudsman - Unrealistic deadlines and workloads across departments - Numerous colleagues faced intimidation and humiliation from HR and senior production after asking for better pay or working conditions. - Watched at least five colleagues get unjustly let go during their probation period. From their very first day they had unrealistic expectations placed on them. One coordinator spent a significant portion of their first month without fellow teammates to show them the ropes as both that could have taught them were on holiday. After being repeatedly berated by their manager despite their lack of proper onboarding, they resigned after four weeks in the role. - Not directly related to working conditions, but several of the positive reviews on this company's profile are written by members of production at the behest of senior management to artificially boost the ratings of this page. Honestly, after working at Glitch I've fallen into a mental rut. I struggle to apply for other company jobs, afraid that I'll receive the same treatment from management as I did here. I hope things have gotten better since I left.
