Pros
None to speak of. Terrible business.
Cons
Marketing in a Box is not an agency, despite what they claim on their website. That’s just what they’ll say to get employees through the door. In reality, they just reproduce content for one client, which normally involves proofreading something the client has written, or designing. No strategy, despite advertising to employees that they offer the service. No content creation, again despite advertising. In other words, they’re a repro house, and the MD, despite his claims, has no desire to be anything beyond that, so long as it continues to line his own pockets without an ounce of care for his employees. Consider the fact that the business has been operating for 10 years, but has never had anymore than 5 employees - that’s not an agency that wants to grow, despite the MD’s claims, but one that only serves himself and his bank account. There are no processes at the company, it’s simply disorganised chaos. The MD will disappear for days at a time and not be heard from, and when reviewing something you’ve produced, will only point out menial mistakes, stop reading the remainder of the content, and tell you to rectify those mistakes. This will go on and on until what you produced originally is a far cry from what the final version is. The MD also has no systematic approach to business development. It’s just calling up people he knows already and asking if there’s anything they need doing, with no desire to expand beyond that. In short, avoid this agency. It’s full of liars and cheaters who have no loyalty to anyone apart from padding out their profit margins with boring work that an employee doesn’t want to do or even signed up for in the first place.
