Pros
The only pros I can think of is that a couple of the seniors and other staff were lovely and of course the residents we're all a pleasure to care for. There are always shifts to pick up and the pay is not bad at all.
Cons
There are unfortunately a lot of cons of working at the place I worked at under Marton Care Homes. For example, there was one deputy manager who was awful to everybody and always spoke to people like they were dirt. Every morning we would dress the residents and give them a cup of tea or coffee, well this deputy manager came in and yelled at the fact there was 1 cup in the sink and told us to get it washed now when in fact the night staff always cleaned up after day shift's mess without complaining. Another con is that there is a senior, one in particular who is a complete bully! She orders people around like they are clueless and throws her weight around, calling members of staff behind their backs even using the C word! She threatens staff with the manager even though staff aren't doing anything wrong and the has such a lack of respect for everyone around her! The manager does not care about bullying, she says that we are all adults and we have to sort it out ourselves, even when a senior is caught talking to another member of staff calling you a useless C word when you've done nothing but work your backside off while she sits there ordering people around doing "paperwork" I felt very driven out of the home as the staff were cliquey and awful to each other, starting gossip and rumours and having senior staff saying they will "stove your head in" if you don't do something they ask then try and say it was a joke, nope. Not worth it, do not work here! I did 7 night shifts IN A ROW! and not one person was thankful even though most of those night shifts were to cover somebody being off!
