Pros
My desire to continue working in education brought me to Vidyashilp six months ago and I'm liking it here. The campus, although a little far from the city, it feels good to come back to every morning. The colleagues are welcoming for every new joiner and helps them in quick knowledge transfer. I love my interactions with the faculty and the deans of the University, for many marketing requirements and it is an opportunity to learn from them. The university, with a systematic initiatives to become the No.1 new-age University, in south India, has excellent academic leaders and higher management, who know what is best for the institution and the students. I really look forward to beginning my work everyday, which is challenging, and sometimes, exhausting but I retain my enthusiasm and focus.
Cons
The location certainly, especially for someone who stays on the other side of Bangalore and therefore the travel time. But it has grown well on me and I spend the travel time constructively, either in book-reading or I listen to a nice podcast. As it is still a thin team, the work can be exhausting especially during the admission season. I also feel, cast delegation, planning and reporting could be improved for more efficiency, because marketing as a function binds other department such as sales, outreach and even academics.
