Pros
Great place to learn as a fresh grad because the seniors are competent, but you'll have to be able to stand up for yourself as the company will try to make you work OT for free if you are a pushover.
Cons
The company does a lot of shady and illegal stuff, with the worse one being that the company deducts EPF from your salary as usual but then does not deposit it into your account. They are currently being sued by EPF/KWSP for stealing employees' money. As for salary, most new writers are earning between RM2.3k to RM2.7k, with no raises unless you know how to ask, although some are still earning under RM2k. No career growth, even editors only earn a little over RM4k. Additionally, Lowyat still operates like a small company and has not had a dedicated HR person in years, which is why the CEO was able to steal the EPF money.
