Cons
The job scope presented during recruitment does not accurately reflect the reality of the role. Positions advertised as having managerial responsibilities often come with little to no actual team management exposure. In practice, direct reports appear to be concentrated under a small number of senior staff, while others are expected to take on managerial accountability without the authority, support, or experience needed to succeed.
There is a significant mismatch between title, expectations, and organisational structure. Employees are frequently placed in the middle of competing demands from management and stakeholders while operating as solo contributors. Workloads are heavy, priorities shift regularly, and responsibilities continue to expand beyond the original job description.
The organisation would benefit from stronger people-management capabilities. Leadership positions should be filled based on demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, not simply title progression. Existing staff are often overextended, and the lack of proper resourcing creates unnecessary pressure and burnout risks.
For anyone considering a role here, I strongly recommend speaking with current team members before accepting an offer to understand the actual reporting structure, workload expectations, and day-to-day responsibilities.
