Learned that the founder is highly exploitative of her employees/collaberators/customers. The other interns and I ran all operations that needed to be overseen by paid employees, our unpaid labor handmade each garment that was sold or sent down the runway at fashion week. I was told by sales associate that they are consistently misisng up to 2 hours of pay per day, per paycheck. It was a consistent thing for founder, to inappropriately talk down on other employees in a way that was extremely unprofessional. Some employees would grow beyond the company to full-time hours and necessity operations, again wihtout pay. If asked for pay upon promotion always denied — not to mention pay was under the table (venmoed at random).
