Guides who have stuck out a truly toxic workplace because they care about their work and the children. Admin and the environment did not make it easy.
Cons
Worked here several years ago. Came with 12 years of experience. "Lead" Guide would tell toddlers to "shut the (word redacted) up," pinch them, constant yelling at them, and worse. When this was brought to admin's attention, the teacher wasn't removed immediately. It was clear they knew this was an issue but the biggest priority here is employees who smile and keep up the facade. Nothing Montessori about this place expect the materials. You're a minute late? That's a violation of the highest order. You're giving your co-teacher the silent treatment in front of the children for weeks on end? Admin won't step in and it's totally okay. The positive reviews in 2022 here were at the request of the former Head of School. Hopefully this place has changed but that would have taken real examination that the reality of this school being a business, first and foremost, would not allow.
Caused me, and many other teachers (not a small minority as some have said here), actual emotional and mental harm.
