Pros
Some colleagues were supportive, and the role provided international teaching experience.
Cons
In my personal experience, the working environment was challenging and at times overly focused on micromanagement rather than staff development. Communication between management and staff often felt inconsistent, and concerns raised by employees were not always handled in a way that felt constructive or supportive.
I also felt that certain sensitive issues involving student wellbeing and inclusivity could have been addressed more professionally and transparently. These experiences left me feeling disappointed with the level of support available to both staff and families.
The workplace culture sometimes felt tense and divided, which affected morale among employees. I personally found the leadership approach to be overly focused on operational control and cost-cutting rather than staff wellbeing and long-term culture building.
Overall, while others may have different experiences, this environment was not the right fit for me professionally, and I would encourage prospective teachers to carefully research the workplace culture before relocating internationally.
