Pros

Good pay and pension and home working

Cons

Inconsistent feedback on quality. Demanding targets. Organisation focuses too heavily on things that don’t matter as much as ensuring the outcome on determinations is correct, such as how sentences are written, formatting of reports, and praising one another for basic day-to-day tasks. Very toxic, passive aggressive attitudes of managers. Those capable of doing the job are left to feel inadequate over petty feedback. Feedback focuses on negative only and not positive. Avoid all costs. The worst place I’ve ever worked.

Pros

Good salary compared to similar roles. Strong pension scheme, which is a real benefit long term. Fully remote working offers great flexibility and work-life balance. There are some additional benefits which are appreciated and add value overall Fantastic individuals doing the role who will help you

Cons

Annual leave is less competitive compared to similar roles in the industry, and performance targets do not adequately take time off into account, which can make them feel unrealistic at times. The role can feel quite siloed, as individuals are solely responsible for their own caseload, with limited collaboration or support. This means you need to be highly disciplined and confident in managing your own time and workload. There is very little recognition or encouragement from management, which can impact morale over time. The probation process is a particular concern — it is poorly structured, inconsistently managed, and unnecessarily stressful. The lack of clarity and support during this period has led to significant frustration, and in some cases has been a key factor in staff considering leaving the organisation.

Pros

Good pay Flexible working Remote working Helpful and experienced peers.

Cons

Focus on targets as priority takes away from quality and customer focus. Targets not adjusted for absence. This creates unfair pressure when using holiday allowance or if sickness absence. Many staff avoid taking leave or have to work extra on return. Change is not well co-ordinated and often communicated to staff last minute without allowance for time to bed in. Teams and line management changed frequently, making difficult to grow sense of team and support helpful when remote working. Can feel like factory line at times.
