Pros
Great co-workers and administrators, good insurance, participation in TRSL retirement system, good curriculum, autonomy. Diversity among staff and students.
Cons
A lack of setting variety means all students are grouped together despite any needs for different settings, leading to huge behavioral obstacles in delivering curriculum and creating a classroom environment in which students and teachers feel safe. Secondary trauma for students and staff are huge issues at this school full of good people. Students with special needs are fully included, but are not getting their needs met because they are lost in the shuffle. Gifted students are not challenged for the same reason. Putting such diverse needs together means that few students get their needs fully met and many fall through the cracks.
