Pros
Team engagement and working with survivors
Cons
The top leader creates a toxic and hostile work environment. Staff witnessed and experienced staff being yelled at during work hours, spoken to in demeaning and condescending ways, and publicly reprimanded. After these outbursts, an email apology would sometimes follow, as if that erased the behavior—but the conduct continued.
There appeared to be a disturbing pattern of frequent firings. The top leader seemed to derive satisfaction from terminating staff, contributing to a culture of fear where people were afraid to speak up or ask questions. Long-tenured, committed employees were dismissed without transparency, disrupting programs and harming morale.
Staff also observed serious ethical concerns. Serious legal issues were raised and then quietly covered up or minimized rather than addressed appropriately. Staff were discouraged from documenting concerns or escalating issues, reinforcing a lack of accountability.
This is not a single incident or personality conflict. Reading other reviews shows these same issues have existed for years. For an organization serving vulnerable populations, this leadership behavior is unacceptable and dangerous to staff and survivors.
would strongly caution anyone considering employment here with this too leadership especially those who value ethical leadership, psychological safety, and respect in the workplace.
