If you are eager to start your academic experience as a lecturer, you will have the opportunity. There are several changes going on with the career plan so that it will allow you to fill up to 40 hours/week teaching at the classroom, and, more rarely, in research and/or extension.

I am seeing some of my older colleagues becoming sick of running after classes opportunities while seeing the younger receiving these classes with no effort because their pay scale is cheaper. The university has relatively well equipped laboratories to develop scientific researches (in comparison to others universities in Brazil) and a great library to conduct studies. If one is interested in applying to an university, I strongly recommend to consider applying to UNIVALI.

Laboratory technician are poorly paid for the work they do. Most have bachelor degree and still they are paid as technicians.
