Pros
-Good management that encourages growth over perfection. Management will work with rather than against you in most cases if you just communicate.
-You make tips along with an hourly wage. And you receive your tips every week, which makes waiting for that paycheck less nerve racking.
-This place is like a second family. You'll be close with your coworkers. For better or for worse, but I'll consider it a pro since my experience with this work family situation was mostly positive.
Cons
-Inconsistency. This location is right across from Gainbridge Fieldhouse and it's by the Convention Center too. This means when those places are busy, the restaurant is total chaos which is vastly different from the typical amount of business, which rather than being steady most of the time, is pretty dead.
-Inconsistency, again. Because the business is so inconsistent the hours you work are too, especially if you're part time. There were some weeks where I worked maybe 8 hours total, these were always weeks with barely any customers. And there were some weeks where I worked double shift after double shift working around 30 hours total, these were chaos weeks. Management will send you home early if the cost of labor is more than the customers are paying in most cases.
-The work family thing can be unpleasant too. If there is drama than it will quickly become your problem even if you're uninvolved, or if one person decides to bully you, there's no avoiding them and confrontation is forced to happen. Quarters are close, the building is small, and there's only so many people who work there.
