After hiring almost a 3rd of our employees in locations outside of NYC during the pandemic, DH announced RTO and are forcing employees to relocate to NYC with no relocation stipend or leave with no severance. As a hiring manager, I was told I could hire anywhere in the US, and my direct report joined with the understanding that they would be able to work remotely indefinitely. It's really disappointing that we'll be losing such great talent in what is effectively the third round of layoffs in a year. I wish they would have just done an official layoff and at least give severance. Morale is really low and business is not doing well.
