Pros
Working for Dell was a major plus for me...especially the first couple years. I had great management/leadership above me, great benefits, bonuses and a great team of employees. Our HR was top notch, pay was good.
Cons
During my last year with Dell leadership focus began to change. Management began pushing managers and leaders, and later, other employees, to be sales people, and not just to our existing customer(s). That would be fine in a your average commercial or non-contract environment, but in our cases, many of us had dedicated roles on the contracts we served. Asking us to extend beyond what our customers are paying us to do can and did quickly take the shape of conflicts of interest. My leadership went so far as to assign another contract to me, when my role was full-time dedicated to leading our customer's Desktop Support Team. Worse...we were subcontracted to the same company, so they immediately saw my name on both contracts. My attempts to remedy this were first challenged by Dell leadership, later resolved...but too late....cost me my job!
