Pros
Making a crap paycheck is better than no paycheck
Cons
If you're looking for a job in sales, avoid this company or you will be treated terribly. It's run by 3 partners, and the one that handles the sales department is Bob Kane. Most companies will give you at least a low base as a rep; here they give you nothing, it's total commission, and it stays that way unless you become a favorite, and get in good with their nasty little family (it's a family run business.) If you run a lead and sell the service, if the family happens to experience financial difficulties months or even years down the road and defaults on their payments, Five Star will literally DEDUCT it from YOUR SALARY as a rep!!! Also, they expect you to be at their beck and call 7 days a week (yeah you're really going to have a family life and work-life balance, but they don't care about that, only THEY can have that.) Also something else that will happen, half the time you run leads and when you get to someone's home, either they aren't there (despite that they were supposedly confirmed) or the other spouse isn't there, so you can't run the lead. So, you run around endlessly all week long, totally commission-based, to half the time make no money and be screwed over. They also have a white board in their horrible little conference room where they actually list the top 4 earning rep's salaries every week. Forget salary privacy. Avoid at all costs, they have no respect for reps or anyone other than themselves. And they are incredibly well established and loaded, so they can more than afford to ensure their small sales force has what they need, but do not because they are cheap. And if you complain, they will make fun of you and talk badly about you and your personal business within their company. Terrible, no better than criminals.
