Pros

-Great staff members with which to work, great culture. -Advancement opportunities to those who seek it. -Wide range of co-workers with different specialties - helps those seeking personal growth. -Management that seems to care about their staff. -Flexibility with PTO usage; offers OT as pay or PTO.

Cons

-Appropriation of salaries to its staff. -Most of those dictating "sales" [upgrade/implementation] efforts, don't know the technology being sold. -Many aspects of the 'why' or 'how' regarding client issues lack any sense of responsibility/accountability on those in charge of the account. -People in the office tend to not work a lot more than they actually do; constant chatter, web-surfing, weekend planning, etc. -A lot of wandering around the office by many engineers; constant water/bathroom breaks, no direction or supervision being dictated. -Those in higher positions tend to direct planning, poorly and then blame the engineers doing the work about timelines. -Management actively states they hate having meetings; then proceeds to complain about a lack of communication between departments.

Pros

It’s important to note this is an MSP (Managed Service Provider). This type of work is generally considered bottom-of-the-barrel as far as IT work goes, so keep this in mind. The office is located on Long Island if staying local is important to you. They will hire you if you are fresh out of college and/or have no experience in IT. This is great if you are trying to get your foot in the door.

Cons

-Absolutely no direction or clear cut path when you arrive. You are expected to do scrap runs and go to client offices to hook up computer monitors for the first few months, then they throw you into the help desk and say ‘good luck’. -Once you are put on help desk there is next to no chance of any internal growth within the company. It seems like management likes to play favorites (as mentioned in several other reviews) and if you’re not selected you will either get so fed up you’ll leave or management will find an excuse to fire you, only to replace you with another applicant desperate to land an IT job in this market. The entire time I was there I saw many of my coworkers leave or get fired, one after another. From a company morale perspective, this is very depressing. It forces you to wonder: ‘Why does this happen so frequently, and will I be next?’ -They underpay their employees and they know it. Seriously, when you consider the cost of living on Long Island and the NY area in general, the compensation will bring you to tears. I believe this is a strong part of their business model - they keep their operating costs low by hiring people with no past experience who are just happy to have landed a job in IT and are willing to work for peanuts. -No Christmas bonus or any bonuses for that matter, not even a ‘Merry Christmas’ from management. Other monetary incentives were cut out, with the owner saying things like ‘the research shows giving bonuses doesn’t work’. On the flip side, they were recently able to build a full size ICE HOCKEY RINK behind their building. Interesting… -Constant changes in policies, rules, and guidelines for seemingly no reason. They had a work from home policy and then just took it away, probably because they have this big fancy new building that they paid for that was just sitting empty. I also think it's a power thing - an old school mentality of ‘If I had to do it, you have to do it’ that is dated to say the least, especially when you consider that your job consists of sitting at a computer and helping clients remotely most of the time. -Owners and top management do not get involved with anything, and have no idea about day-to-day operations or the struggles the techs deal with constantly. This means you will deal with the same problem over and over, with any concerns of finding a resolution falling on deaf ears and problems never getting resolved.
