Pros
The only things I liked about working at Happiest Baby were working from home and some of the coworkers were nice or sometimes fun. However, turnover rate is extremely high so most people would not stay for long unless they liked the way things ran or liked the management for some reason. If the company stays working from home then I would consider that as a pro if you are considering working there. Also the pay is not terrible, especially if you come from a retail or service industry background or similar. It is hourly
Cons
I just found this website and after I saw some very inaccurate reviews I felt I had to share some truths. I can only speak on experience with the Customer Care Team, but the five star reviews on here are not what I experienced at all. There is NOT unlimited PTO (not even close) and management does not encourage you to take it. You can ask for 2 hours off of one day a month ahead of time and they will fight you about even that. No paid time off, sick time or health insurance for first 90 days. (Seen this before at other places, but I wanted to bring it up since it is being misrepresented in other reviews) Another review said it better than I could so I will elaborate on that with my experience. "-ZERO transparency. Read that again. ZERO. You will be promised things that never come to fruition." - 100% true. Mgmt will try to calm people down by pretending they are going to do something, but it is a lie " -It doesn’t matter how hard of a worker you are, you will not be valued unless you suck up to Management, or happen to be one of the lucky ones that is just liked." - I think this is also mostly true, however I did not notice it enough that I would have thought to bring it up in my review so I can't speak on that as much "-HORRIFIC work/life balance. Do you want to work for 7 days in a row? Absolutely not. Especially not for the kind of complaints and micromanaging you will experience on a minute to minute basis." -Definitely true. Micromanaging is the perfect word for that environment " -Customers everywhere are tough, which is understandable, however, these individuals are consistently horrible, to the point of making staff cry repeatedly. Nothing is done to support the team. You either sink or swim. " - This I can say some people just get unlucky. I never felt to the point of crying. Had some tough customers, but it is to be expected. However I definitely agree there is no support for the team members at all. The company only cares about it's bottom line and not about how staff feels or how they are doing (They will claim they care a lot and that it is a priority for them, but that is another lie to seem nice) " -Take screenshots of everything you do. No one will trust you, and you will have insurmountable anxiety over minutiae. -There is zero flexibility or understanding from Management." -these two hit home for me. The level of anxiety that environment causes is crazy. It is the micromanaging and the lack of flexibility (like fighting team members over vacation hours) that are most disappointing when you're trying to do a good job. It's like there is no respect there. " -The pay looks promising, but is not worth it for the way your mental health will tank." - I was happy with the pay but I guess that type of thing depends on the person. Mental health definitely tanked though " -No accountability. Some people get away with doing no work, while others carry the team, and nothing is done to help balance this, including further training." -Something else I would have forgotten to mention that this review brought up is the way there is no further training. It is also not a kind of environment where you can ask for more training. One way mgmt is so toxic is that they will make you feel stupid for asking certain things or making certain mistakes. Even if you are doing everything right they will question you and talk down to you. It is very condescending and insulting. Over all just not a good place to work. If you like the pay and can put up with the way they treat you, then sure, it's a job. But there is nothing special about working here and no reason I would recommend it. (The only reason would be that some coworkers are nice, but like I said, none of the good ones stay for very long.) You are not joining some sort of "Family" and you are not going to be treated with respect or feel valued in any way. I know that is enough for some people so if that is you then you will be fine.
