Pay was not worth the stress. Your whole role is essentially to be the fall guy. You’re directed by management to “stick to the warranty manual” only for them to completely contradict themselves when it’s survey time. Even when things are CLEARLY wrong or written in black and white. I was directed to beg a customer for a survey whose husband had died less than 30 days prior. In addition to the constant abuse from whining customers and office politics, you also better hope the coordinator likes you otherwise you’ll be out of a job. The trades, management, and some builders will not hesitate to take a shortcut putting you and customers in potentially dangerous situations. This company completely turned me off to warranty, building, and even new home construction because of the amount of shortcuts taken. I also saw employees put in situations where they were set up to fail intentionally by management only to be reprimanded when the job went sideways. If you leave the company, good terms or not, they DRAG your name through the mud to make sure you don’t get another opportunity in another company.
