Pros

I learnt so much from the individuals that I supported over my time at this company. I'm struggling to meet the 20 word minimum for this section.

Cons

Poor work life balance. Poor flexibility with staff. Expectations of staff are ridiculous. Poor management at various levels. Shift patterns are laughable, or would be if they weren't so bad. Lack of any tangible business model. I get working in social care has never been and never will be fantastic in terms of pay. However, with the recent restructuring (that saved the company no money apparently) has reduced the salaries of the front line workers but not management or those at head office. Due to restructuring, the calibre of staff has significantly gone down hill. A lot of staff have left the organisation since the restructuring (I can vouch for this being the case in the West of Scotland). There is no encouragement or scope for personal development or further learning. I would not encourage anyone to work with this company or use its services. It seems that Penumbra has lost the soul that it once had and in all honesty I do not see it being here for too much longer.
