Pros
Easy, repetitive work. Lots of flexibility / the ability to choose your own hours.
Cons
Almost everything about this job was miserable. It's in a basement with no windows inside a building that used to be an old bank, so aesthetic is somewhere in between "rec room in the '90s" and prison. I understand that there are security systems that cannot be changed, particularly inside the "Clean Room," however, there are so many things that could be altered that are within upper management's power, if they cared to change them.
The pay is ungodly low. I truly don't understand how anyone could live on it, particularly in a city like Los Angeles. You have to deposit all of your earthly possessions into a locker outside of your desk, making it absolutely impossible to perform even the most minute of outside tasks (i.e. checking on kids, paying a bill, responding to a text, etc). If you work 5 hours, you get a 10 minute paid break. If you work 6, you get a 30 min unpaid lunch break. You cannot break any outside food or beverages into the working room so, the only thing there may be to eat during your 8 hour shift (aside from your tiny breaks) are mini bags of chips and a rotting fruit that management sometimes remembers to restock. It is the saddest place I have ever been or worked at. The actual work is mind-numbing and demoralizing. I don't know how everyone is not screaming at their desks.
