Pros

Worked on and off for Rural for 3 years. Always treated well. Challenging assignments. Worked at home. No pressure to work set hours. Travel to different projects. Leadership treated me well. Listened to me when I had a complaint about an assignment.

Cons

Inconsistent assignments. Rarely the same type of work. Would have nice to have long term assignemtns. Rural wanted me to work as permament employee for their customer, but I enjoyed being a contractor.

Thank you for your years of service. Looking back at the years of growth, it was a challenging, stressful, but yet fun time. There are numerous people that I miss working with. We did have great Java and .Net teams. Good luck in your future endeavors!

Pros

There are absolutely no pros, whatsoever. I can say nothing good about this company or the people who run it.

Cons

They make false promises of raises, reward trips for employees, and payment of any back pay owed. Do NOT believe them when they absolutely promise to pay you back pay if you'll "Just work the next few weeks without a check". They owe a number of former employees anywhere from a couple thousand dollars to tens of thousands. They also took advantage of a number of clients by taking their money, and not delivering the projects. They pit employees against one another, causing a great deal of stress.

Regretfully, when a company closes, it feels much like a death in the family. One goes from shock, to denial, to anger, and then the sad acceptance. It is oblivious that the person who wrote this was in the anger stage. Which saddens me greatly. All of these accusations, with the exception of the Hawaii reward trip, are false. (We never made it to Hawaii as by the time we reach that revenue driven goal, we already were going down the path of closing the company. It would have been fun seeing everyone enjoy the success of reaching the goal.) Unlike most companies that are closed, we are paying our final financial obligations as fast as funds are made available. RAOO has paid, and is still paying, tens of thousands of dollars to ensure that contractors and associates are paid the correct amount. If you are reading this, and have not been yet paid or contacted, please contact me. The client accusation is just another angry cheap shot that is totally untrue. We always took care of our clients to the point where I personally paid to refund deposits on two projects that RAOO would not be able to start and complete when the Board of Directors decided that RAOO needed to close. Too bad RAOO did not scale up to a industry leading entity. During the early growth years, we had our share of laughs, tears, successes, and setbacks. A lot of good memories mostly offset the pain of the final year. Peace to all and good luck in the future

Pros

There are None to speak of

Cons

If you enjoy having to beg for your pay check, this is the company for you. Ownership hires people with the intention of never paying them. People work three-tour weeks before finally realizing they aren't going to get paid.
