Pros

Pros that I consider a given for any decent tech workplace: Flexible schedule, WFH, good benefits, at least OK pay, Outstanding pros: Singularly unique and compelling mission, huge overall impact and relevance, challenging problems to solve, some truly talented and brilliant coworkers, financially strong, well-resourced, some experienced leadership.

Cons

May or may not be a con to you: Top-down bro culture, sexist atmosphere, lack of accountability. not diverse. Big cons: Tolerates bad behavior (yelling, obstructing tasks), inconsistent opportunities for advancement, engineering and product leadership weak, middle management unskilled, pay is mediocre, communication and teamwork mediocre, individual leadership and mentorship nonexistent.

SpyCloud Response

Hello to our former employee and thank you so much for taking the time to review SpyCloud. As you know, SpyCloud has a feedback-rich culture, and we value everyone’s opinion. As a rapidly growing start-up, we have grown more than 250% over the past three years to almost 150 employees. Our brisk growth has provided many opportunities for our determined and talented team leads and managers to create processes and contribute to building our products. We appreciate your contributions to those teams! Cybersecurity is an ever-expanding industry, and a safe and inclusive workplace is of the utmost importance at SpyCloud. While as an organization, SpyCloud meets industry standards for gender and racial diversity, we have never settled for the status quo. We are committed to becoming more intentional in setting aside focused time to learn about the unique perspectives and potential of all our team members. We recognize that diverse teams bring innovation and better decisions, and we are committed in our hiring practices to continue to seek candidates who are naturally curious problem-solvers and critical thinkers. As we look to the future and begin to focus more on the growth and development of our employee base, we will continue to lean into best practices for all our employees so that we can become supportive allies to underrepresented groups where diverse backgrounds, experiences and values continue to benefit our company and overall mission. Thank you again for your review. I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you further. Please do not hesitate to contact me at Christia@SpyCloud.com or 512.415.5571. Sincerely, Christia Churchill, VP of Human Resources

Pros

It's honestly relaxing being able to show up to the virtual or physical office and know that no one's looking over our shoulder to make sure we're working non-stop from 9-5. It's nice to actually be treated like an adult and be trusted to get my work done on my own time (within reason, deadlines, etc). The hybrid structure is great. Team's can make their own rules, it's flexible, and there's no hard hour requirement. You want to come in from 9-1 one day and 10-5 the next? Cool. As long as you're getting your work done, communicating with your team and coming in when they ask, you're good. Remote working is the same. SpyCloud's also working on a product that makes a difference, is a necessity and is actually cutting-edge. Because of that, the company has a vision and is clearly going somewhere. The people are great too. You have people have been in Cyber their entire career. You also have people who are brand new to it. Regardless, everyone is passionate, wants to be here, and wants to make a difference. You won't struggle to find motivated and driven people here.

Cons

Nothing you wouldn't expect at a ~10 year old start up.
