Not a great place to work - Anonymous Summit Marketing Employee Review

Pros

I love the people I work with. All are hardworking. They try to do things for employees as far as snacks, lunches and things.

Cons

SEVERE micromanaging. No one is allowed to make any decisions but the president and CEO. Lack of processes and structure have really held them back and they are losing business. You cannot be so archaic in a world that is constantly changing. 80% of business is with one client. There is no training or mentoring going on here. There is no encouraging employees to move up.

Pros

The best thing about Summit is the people. I love my team and the environment.

Cons

It's all about what role you're in. In my experience, my manager's always been receptive to discussing marrying my skills and interests with how I'm spending my time. But some roles are detail-oriented and more repetitive, while others are more creative and self-driven.

Pros

Summit Marketing is a really awesome place to work. I have been a part of the Summit family now for several years and could not say more wonderful things about working here. The company has fantastic leadership that support, motivate and mentor their employees. They have many people who have worked at the company for a long time, and you can tell they absolutely love what they do. As with any agency, the workload is fast-paced, and it seems like no two days are alike. Overall, there is a positive team environment that permeates throughout the company. Many departments work cross-functionally and in support of one another’s initiatives. They tend to hire people who have a heart for philanthropy, which is important because they have a robust nonprofit business line. As a company, I truly feel they embrace their Mantra in every which way. Summit is a family-oriented company and has a culture that provides support and flexibility. I have always experienced an excellent work-life balance and as a parent, this is critical for me. Leadership has taken the pandemic very seriously and I believe they did a great job creating a safe and COVID friendly environment when we went back into the office. People who had young children who were not in school were also given flexibility to work from home. The office environment is fun and inviting. Although many are busy in their daily work, the departments take time bond as teams. They also host themed office parties for common holidays and surprise employees by bringing in donuts, soft pretzels, ice cream, or even lunch. Filling bellies is a perk of the job! Thanks, Summit for being such a wonderful employer. I love coming to work every day!

Cons

I do not have anything to say negatively about Summit.
