Pros
This is a review for The Sports Network www.thesportsnetwork.com some people get this place confused with TSN up in Canada. I worked here for 10 years they gave me my first job out of college so I'm thankful for that. The Sports Network sold to stats then closed in July 2015. To some that would be a pro. Really there are no pros to working here. I guess the biggest was the relaxed dress code and that is all.
Cons
There where a lot of cons way more then I'll list here. We use to have a golf outing every year as a company but they killed that off to save money I guess. Management was bad they had a lot of crazy ideas that would make you scratch your head. It was pretty much a free for all and the hire ups would just look down at everyone and you had nobody to go to for help. You pretty much had to manage yourself. The CEO didn't know what was going on with the daily operations and was to busy trying to start non sports related businesses and websites on the side. The tech was outdated. They finally stopped buying used servers and got real ones after 9 years. Before the servers would crash about 5 - 10 times a day. The computers you would work on ran windows XP up until Microsoft stopped supporting it and even then our "new" used machines if you where a lucky one only had 2 - 3 GB of RAM so good luck trying to get any type of real work done. Half the company had flat screen monitors the other half still had the big bulky things. Pay raises what is that? If you where buddy buddy with the CEO you might get a raise other then that don't even try asking cause you'd get told a million reasons why they couldn't do it. After 10 years I got 1 raise. The list goes on and on but this placed sold and then closed up shop.
